Ojiya/Hiroshima/Isawa Bound PSKoi Fall 2019
I have booked my trip to Japan. I will be there for about three weeks, leaving for Japan on October 15th, and returning on November 6th. If there is anything that I can find for you please let me know. I will always do my very best to find the highest quality at a reasonable price. Also know that we take the health of the Koi we purchase very seriously and, because of this, we have a very long QT procedure that includes KHV testing at no additional cost to you.

Hi Jim, I haven't fully decided yet as I am not sure who all I want to see or what I want to look for. I do have quite a few requests for fish so some of it is for sure. I will be visiting Torazo, Hosokai, Teradomari (he invited me to his Tategoi harvest), Sekiguchi, INC, Taniguchi, Omosako, Matsue and Minuma. I am thinking about a few others though.

Just got back from Tokyo after being delayed several days by the Typhoon. Any word on the impacts to Koi breeders? I think it was mostly north of the areas you usually visit but it was a massive Typhoon and some areas are still heavily impacted from the rainfall.

There are no issues in the Ojiya/Nagaoka area. The Shinano River, grew to record levels because of the run off from areas like Nagano, but held it's own.

Today was our first full day in Japan and the trip starts in the Ojiya/Nagaoka area. We started out with Starbucks, luckily we were not in any hurry, so we got to sit for a while and enjoy. Our plan was to meet at Torazo Koi Farm as Yuki Kawakami, Torazo's daughter, now helps me with scheduling my appointments with breeders.

Of course, when at Torazo Koi Farm, you have to look at Koi. We did have some time so I found a couple of Kohaku. Please note that on my last trip, while at Minuma Koi Farm, the video on my camera gave out. I purchased a GoPro7 and these are the first videos.

This Kohaku has a beautiful, more traditional pattern that it will grow into as a large Kohaku.
