This pond was also where Zulu Princess was as she had just been harvested yesterday with the rest of the Koi.

It was a little bit busy in there so we decided to look into some of the sold tanks. I found what everyone wants but this is Yonsai and probably had a big price tag on her. The distortions of the body shape are from the water current. Tancho Showa are one of the biggest requests that I get but I rarely find anything because it is extremely hard to find one that meets all the criteria of a good fish. Body, quality and pattern for the right price.

After the crowd size diminished I started looking into the tank with the female Nisai Shiro Utsuri. To show you how difficult it is take a look at this. This picture, not showing the entire Koi, is a picture of a Shiro that was probably the best quality in the tank. These were recently harvested and you can see some stress in some of the Koi. These Koi will be fine.

Once that Shiro came out of the crowd, and I could see the whole thing, it was obvious it would not be coming home with me. It is a shame. It isn't the stress on it that is the reason but rather the imbalance of proportion between the body and the tail.

I decided to pass on getting some mostly white, but very nice, Shiro Utsuri and we decided to hit the road. Tomorrow is another day for Koi.

Zulu Princess continues to impress. Such a lovely girl!
I'm fascinated by the Taniguchi Kawarimono. The silver and champagne ones in particular. Good thing I'm not a hobbyist any longer, lol.

Is the tail in this example too short?
