Ojiya/Hiroshima/Isawa Bound PSKoi Spring 2019
I leave on Monday for Japan and this trip is a buying trip. I will also be there for the International Junior Koi Show at the end of April in Ojiya and will post pictures from the show.

Thank you, I am looking forward to it as it is my first buying trip since October 2018. I have already spoken to several of the breeders I will be seeing and am hoping they have some jewels for me.

Re: Ojiya/Hiroshima/Isawa Bound PSKoi Spring 2019
My first appointment today wasn't until 1pm and it was at Kanno Koi Farm in Yamakoshi. I had forgotten to contact Hosokai as I want to see what he had left or what he might have available in Tosai. Hosokai usually sells on in February or March. I called Masaru Hosokai on the phone but it did not connect so I decided to drive up to Wakatochi village to see if he was there. It is over an hour to drive up there from where I was so I was hoping to reach him by phone first.
Realizing I had nothing else to do I figured I would drive up and take a chance. Five minutes after I arrived Hosokai showed up with some of his helpers. They had been working up in the mountains on a mud pond. We went though everything he had left, as far as Nisai and Sansai, and he was picked clean. We went into the Tosai house and, to my surprise, there were four ponds with Tosai still in them. I got excited and then he said I am keeping these ponds to grow out. I smiled and asked if there wasn't something I could pick from and, after thinking for a few seconds, he pointed to one of the ponds and said you can hand select from this one.
At this point I had 45 minutes left before I had to leave for Kanno so I made an appointment to come back on Friday morning to select. I want to make sure I have time as there were a lot of nice Tosai in that pond.

On the drive to Kanno I passed a breeders facility and saw this sign. I stopped for a picture, I am in the blue car, and wondered if they had no KHV or they were hoping that all of the breeders would have no KHV. I hope for the latter.
