You gesture sleep, big guy, even go to sleep if that works for you. ;)

It's been an exceptionally busy couple of days and you've got a big drive coming up.
Great teaser koi, btw. Someone was just asking me if you went to Omosako.

You know the leftovers are often the best females.

The REAL trick is to learn how to tell them before they get bigger, prettier and more expensive :-J

Incidentally, idk how it's happened this way, but I'd say nearly every Tosai I've bought from Russ ended up female lol :-??

yeah, the skin on that one... I have two SU one from Omosako and one from Kobayashi. The Kobayashi is developing real slow and I never know when to throw in the towel.

KurtG, I've got a Kobayashi Shiro, Showa & Tancho Showa, and they're all growing at the same rate for me. I'm not pushing for growth and I mixed large & small koi together, so I'm sure that also affected them. Their sumi is the darkest I have in the pond even while receding a bit, but mostly has kept the same patterning. The Omosako I did buy is much smaller so I can't report in on that just yet - sumi is just as dark though.

Would be great if we had a "Where are they now?" Koi and Product Sales update thread by breeder lol. We all pretty much are repeat customers and may even be competitors at some shows without even realizing it, so it'd be great to see what our koi's siblings could/have become.

I have this thread on koiphen, but you need to know I have always bought the lowest price koi from Russ so others may have better mileage. I am glad he caters to everyone.

I had been using the Koi Education and Evaluation section. I think progression threads are invaluable. Beyond being just plain fun, there's tons of information to be gleaned from how a koi turns out and the stages they go through.

I have a beautiful SU I got when in Japan. Now that I'm out of the hobby as a hobbyist,I think I've found a home where she will be taken to shows. When Russ gets back and rests for a bit I'll impose on him to pull her for an update. She was purchased as tosai and with not that much sumi so her updates should be fun.

Just a heads up for those of you Facebook members, Russ has some previews from Taniguchi.
There's an amazing Goshiki, already been sold, but is worth taking a peak at.
