2019 Tosai Update

Just finished taking fall update pictures on some Tosai, and though I would post some (I will add more later as time permits)- all of these are from PSKoi - Apologies for the photography, these are my back-ups from my phone camera - hopefully my real camera took better, but my computer is currently refusing to talk to the camera! If I can get a better shot, I will provide it.

In this pair, the fish on the right is an Inc Pink Beni Sanke, purchased at 13 inches, she is currently up to 18 inches. She was in the stock tank long after many of her tank mates had been purchased. As soon as I saw her in the tank, I took her- very glad I did, she is stunning in person!

The Hosaki Showa was bought as soon as I saw her listed- she was advertised as 14-16 inches. She just looked like she was going to be a tank - so far she is not disappointing clocking in at 21 inches! Sumi is down, but should come back

They're both doing very well.
I'll be interested to see how long it takes for your Showa's Sumi to really start appearing. On mine it was another couple of years and it's still not done at 6yo. If she yields even half the joy my Showa gave me, you'll be a happy camper.

I can see why you call the Showa Tank. Really strong conformation on her, good selection!
The quality of the INC Sanke is gorgeous. She looks like she'll do the stretch out thing before bulking as is common with a good number of INC koi. Her Sumi is amazing. Enjoy the journey.

Next up is actually an Inc Kujaku 2018 tosai- it is a one-off (not 2019), but she (hopefully) is just to nice to not share! In March of 2018 she was 10 inches, and is now up to 19.5 inches.

Kujaku looks really really clean. Nice pick up.
Tail tube on your Showa is amazing...it'll be interesting to see what happens to the rest of it as time goes on.

Next up is an Omasaku Gin Rin Shiro Utsuri - bought at 10 inches- now at 17 inches. I saw this fish at Russ' facility and I was instantly hooked-

I am not nearly as organized and Kurt- so it take me a while longer to get things together for upload!

This is a Sekiguchi showa - purchased at 11 inches, now up to 17. I knew the Hosaki might take a bit of time to get any sumi (thank you Marilyn for the lesson!), so I wanted one with a bit more sumi promise.

Taniguchi 14 inch Goshiki - October 2019 16.5 inches. Somewhat surprised at the slower growth lengthwise, but looks to me she bulked up quite a bit, hopefully in preparation for a big growth spurt next year! Please note- I did not edit the pictures other than cropping/rotating- the brighter one is from my cell phone, and the dimmer one is my camera with a polarizing filter which I am still getting used to. The beni really is as bright as it looks on the cell phone shot!

And the last two -minuma gin rin goshiki started at 9 inches and grew to 10.5,

while the other minuma goshiki went from 8 inches to 12 inches.
