Five of the eight inner forms in the filter pit area went up today as well as some more rebar.

Re: Indianapolis, IN Pond Build with a Blue Eco RDF #2 (Geist Reservoir)
The water level in the pond was pretty high this morning so we pumped most of it out. I then spent some time bailing out what I could as it kept weeping out of the ground. It slowed by the end of the day so tomorrow I plan to put some pure cement on the mud to help dry it out.

Re: Indianapolis, IN Pond Build with a Blue Eco RDF #2 (Geist Reservoir)
We uncovered the pond today to start putting in some blocking and shoring before the pour. The panels are 4' x 6' 6" and where they join together they need to be strengthened to keep them from folding like a bifold door. With the weight of the rain water there was a panel that was moved about 1 3/4" toward the inside of the pond. To fix this I used a couple of 2 x 4's set to the width the forms should be and banged it into place. It moved the form back into place and we put in 2 rows of blocking that overlap the seems. There are also a lot of 2 x 4's set on the edge of the pond to help direct the water away when the tarp is cover the forms. The 2 x 4's that are flat, on top of the forms, are now screwed into place to keep the tops of the forms from spreading when the concrete is installed.

All of the forms are completed in the filter pit and all of the rebar is done except for the steps.

There are four airlines for air domes that will go in each corner of the pond and they come up in the corner of the filter pit.

We had an unusual incident with the skimmers for this pond. They were ordered on 8/28 and were scheduled for delivery on 9/2. A notice was sent out the that skimmers were being sent back the day they were scheduled for delivery. This required that I put up all the forms without making a space for the skimmers until now. It took a little bit of time but they are now in.

The shoring inside the pond is now done and the rebar cage has been partially lifted. I also put 150lbs. of pure cement on the mud to help stiffen it up so that the rebar chairs stay above the ground.

The sump pit is in the filter area and most of the shoring is done there as well.

Re: Indianapolis, IN Pond Build with a Blue Eco RDF #2 (Geist Reservoir)
Today I got all of the final details completed. Yesterday I installed the skimmers but, because they arrive late, I don't have time to complete the plumbing from them to the filter pit. I worked out where they are going to enter through the concrete wall and install the two 4" lines through the forms.
