Blue Eco Repair
I have been reading about people having issues with the waste tray not opening up and that the solution is to replace a gasket inside the housing. I have not had the issue but did notice that my waste tray, even though it still was opening, was opening a little more slowly. I decided to take it apart and see what was going on.

Re: Blue Eco Repair
This is the part that has the washer attached to it. It is the black area.

Re: Blue Eco Repair
It is easier to see when you look at it from the bottom. You can actually see an uneven area and this is where some of the gasket has come off thus allowing the water to escape lowering the pressure in the lifting mechanism.

Re: Blue Eco Repair
I decided could make a better gasket myself so I went to Home Depot and bought this toilet flapper.

I then cut off the flat part of the flapper.

You can see that, when the cut out is put on top of the housing, it is too big. It needs to be tight but fit into the housing.

Re: Blue Eco Repair
You need to cut a hole into the center of it so that the lifting rod can come up when the water pressure increases.

Re: Blue Eco Repair
Once I had made the hole in the center I put it on the housing to see what needed to be trimmed.
