Blue Eco Upgrade at PSKoi
I am in the process of building a new concrete system and will be using the Blue Eco RDF. You can't beat the flow rate and efficiency. I really am looking forward to this low energy install and the lack of electronics in the RDF just makes it that much better.
It has been very cold and rainy but it looks like the weather will cooperate for the next two weeks so, I got Kiwi and started digging.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
The inside dimensions of the pond is going to be 9'6" x 18'6" x 5'6" so it will have approximately 7,400 gallons of water. It will be 3' in ground and 3' above ground. The first thing we had to do was clear out 3 cubic yards of D.G.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
I set up most of one level of perimeter forms and we began digging, by hand. We got about half of the soil removed today.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
The digging is almost done but it was stalled by quite a few 3/4" pipes and these two drain lines. I am not sure where they come from so I left them in place so I could run some water to find out. If they are active then they have to be routed around the pond which I would probably do after the pour.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
While the guys were digging I was putting up some more of the forms and the form ties.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
I am reusing some form boards from another pour but I did need to pick up some more. I also picked up the 4" pipe and rebar. Those are 20' lengths.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
I am going very simple on this build. I am going to be doing my custom bottom drains which is just a 4" pipe, that will be flush with the floor, and a concrete lid that I will make for it.
All of the exterior forms are complete and the rough plumbing is complete.

The main pond is 9'6" x 14'6" and there are 3 bottom drains. The green ladder is a 6' ladder.

Re: Blue eco Upgrade at PSKoi
The 3 bottom drain lines come up to the front of the RDF and 2 4" lines go back into the filter area.
