These two pictures show both sides, after I removed 8" of the board to allow for rebar and concrete.

This board is important for another reason. If I can connect the inside and outside forms with the form ties it will make the connection much stronger for the pour. Since I set the outside form boards first I had to come up with a way to make sure the inside form boards could connect at the same level. Working from the bottom up would prove to be very difficult so I decided to work from the top down on one of the walls and this board was the top of that wall.

Once I have this wall set then I can do the other walls from the bottom up as I have the height of the first board. In this picture you can see the start of the form on the long wall at the bottom. The 2x4's on the side wall give me a point to measure 8" out, for the inner form board, from the outer form board on the top of the pond. These 2x4's are plumb.

Since about 2/3rds of the back wall on the pond is the common wall for the filter pit I can also use the form ties to help hold this section together. You can see the form ties already inn place.

The rebar in the pond is complete except for some in the hole for the bottom drains. I am waiting to do this until I can lift the entire cage and install dobies under the rebar.

Day 4
I accomplished quite a bit today. The inner forms are complete and staked off. I raised the cage and installed the dobies. I still have to do the rebar around the bottom drains and add the top 7" of the forms but that won't take long.

I started working on the filter pit area and installed some of the exterior form boards that are needed because the dig went wide on that end. I also added some more of the Simpson T8's.

The Blue Eco RDF needs a waste line so I put stubbed out a 3" line. It is the gray pipe in-between to two 4" white pipes. This is going to go to a sump pit so that the water can be recycled as needed.

Tomorrow is my last day for a little while and the plan is to add rebar and form up the filter pit area. The build is perfectly square so it allows me to cut all the form boards and rebar ahead of time so the pile of wood is the form boards for the up flow Lithaqua chamber and the area for the RDF. The pile of rebar is all of the rebar needed for both these areas.

The view looking over the pond toward the ocean is quite nice. Once the debris is gone it will be even better.
