Re: Fresno Pond Build with a Red Label Twist!
It was 105 today and it was fortunate we got as much done as we did. Picking up the rebar caused burns if you did not wear gloves. We got the back wall in so the perimeter is now closed off. It was nice, when the last pice of exterior wall went in, it lined up perfectly and met the other side at just the right height. I think we got in about 60% of the rebar.

I am taking the day off tomorrow to drive down to Corona to give a lecture at a Koi meeting at Marl Corser's place. I will be back at the pond build on Monday.

Is the rdf in the bamboo forest still going to be in a flooded condition or is it pump fed?

Re: Fresno Pond Build with a Red Label Twist!
Today was another brutal day with the heat. We hit 109 and we are going to be around 110 for the rest of the week. I am thinking of finishing the interior forms and then going home until the weather cols down next week.
I did get the rebar finished and almost half of the inner forms.

I put up all of the rest of the forms today. My helper left at 10am so it was a long day.

Re: Fresno Pond Build with a Red Label Twist!
I came home Wednesday night, after working all day on the pond, to get some more work done around the house. I finished with shoring up the forms and ran all of the plumbing back to the filtration area. There are 5 - 4" pipes, 1 - 3" pipe for the SS shower, 2 - 3/4" lines for the house water supply to the filter area, where there will be an activated carbon filter, and then returns to the auto fill at the pond, 3 - 1/2" ones for the aerated drain domes and a 3" DWV line for the waste water from the Red Label RDF. The concrete pour will be Tuesday.

Re: Fresno Pond Build with a Red Label Twist!
I drove back down to Fresno last night as the concrete pour was this morning. I drove back home tonight as tomorrow I am doing the final fill on the last PSKoi concrete tank that just came out. I accidentally hit the video button this morning so I have a very short video of the start of the pour.

Re: Fresno Pond Build with a Red Label Twist!
We started at 9am and because it has been so hot we decided to do this a little bit differently. Usually I fill the walls up first but today we decided to do the floor all at once to give the finishers more time to work with it. We would have a better chance of not having a cold joint in the walls than we would on the floor. We still hd to go around and close off the bottom of the wall areas so we poured the perimeter first about 18" deep.

It wasn't long before the floor was ready to finish and, luckily, the second concrete truck was just behind the first.
