PSKoi -KHV Test Results 9-06-18

At PSKoi we take the responsibility of taking all of the necessary precautions to make sure that we are proving the healthiest Koi to all of our customers. This has included changing our QT protocol, and testing procedure, to be among the strictest in the US. Every single shipment of Koi we get into our facility will be heated for 30 days at 75 degrees and tested for KHV. We will not be doing ELISA testing, but rather, we will be doing gills snips and PCR testing. We are also putting sentinel Koi, that are 100% KHV free, into each of the tanks with the Koi that are being tested. In the future we will update our testing procedure, as needed to keep up with the latest in testing procedures. Our goal it to make sure that we are as sure as we can be that we are providing KHV free Koi.
We have just received our first test results, since moving to Indiana, and the results are all negative. Our June shipment of Koi is now clear for sales.

Please note that we did batch testing so that each test result is the combination of many gill samples. Each group tested were all from the same breeder and we sampled 40% of the Tosai.
