Yamamoto Showas: Koi will be sold for $400.00 each. The normal price for this fish is $600.00. There are only 12 available. All Yamamoto Showas purchased on April 14th, 2007 are eligible to compete in the 2008 growing contest.
We regret to inform you that we have suffered a disaster that many of our fellow Koi-Lovers have experienced. We have lost 12 of the Yamamoto Showas due to leaving the water on, filling the tank, and forgetting to turn it off. We are heart-broken to lose such beautiful fish, including the fish that was reserved for the raffle. We've spoken with Burt Ballou and he thinks the best idea is to go forward with the event and do the best we can. So we have decided to include some jumbo Maruyama Kohaku tosai (one year old) for sale at sale prices in addition to the Yamamoto Showas.

*We
have 12 nisai (2 year old) Yamamoto Showas available
for purchase, all at the same price of $400.00
each. If you are interested in purchasing one,
please arrive by 10:30 so that you have an
opportunity to look at the fish before the buying
starts. Each person interested in buying a Showa
will be given a numbered ticket. At 10:45 we will
ask Burt Ballou to randomly draw the tickets and
we'll keep track of the order, then we'll have each
person select a fish in the order that the tickets
were drawn. If you don't see a fish you like, or if
the one you had hoped to get has already been
purchased, you are not obligated to buy a fish.
There will be pictures of the fish available to help
you make decisions, and you will be encouraged to
select a fish quickly, so that there is enough time
for all to purchase a fish. We're trying to be as
fair as possible and understand that everyone wants
to choose early, but we need to be fair to all of
our customers. You can come by anytime to look at
the fish, but they will not be for sale until April
14th.
Remember, there is a limited number of fish, so
get here early!
