Indonesia-Ojiya-Isawa Bound PSKoi - Spring 2017

Postby Russell Peters » March 28th, 2017, 6:20 am

On April 5th I leave for Jakarta to Judge a Koi show. The other Judges include Tamaura, Wada, Yoshimichi Sakai and my Hiroshima broker Shinya Umeda. We are all Shinkokai Judges. It makes for a very long first leg of the trip as I fly to Narita airport, in Japan, have a 3 hour layover and then get on another plane for an addition 5 - 6 hour flight to Jakarta. I will be there until April 11th. I then go to Ojiya for 5 days and to Isawa for 3 days.

Sounds like Fun. What farms will you be visiting in Ojiya?

So far I have an appointment with Sekiguchi. He is releasing Tosai from one of his new parent Koi, which I think is a 95cm Showa, and he told me at the AJKS in Tokyo, that he wanted me to have a chance at the very best from this group. I have been developing a very good relationship with him for several years now and he knows that I am only looking for the highest quality. I am excited to see what he has to offer.
I also plan on visiting Murata, whom I haven't visited in a while, and he always has some nice Kohaku Tosai this time of year. Of course I have to see Hosokai and Torazo but I am also thinking of going back to Kobayashi as he might have some nice Nisai available. I am not sure about anyone else yet but Teradomari and Marusei might be possibilities. This trip will only have 6 or 7 buying days so I am not sure how much time I will have.

There's lots of "bugs" in Indonesia. Hope you are up to date on your shots.
