I could only catch 2 koi, others kept leaping out of my bowl. I wasn't able to catch my best koi and made some adjustments late in the year to my pond cover to help. Both I did catch, did well. The Omosako shiro tosai took best in size 2 and my Kobayashi tancho showa from Spring 2016 took the "Chairperson's Award" and peoples choice "Most Unique".
Likely the best thing ever to get the kids juiced about koi. Thanks Russ for providing the koi and those involved in setting up the show.

A lot of discussion on KKNA of the sumi on my tancho from Kobayashi. I assumed it just wasn't finished. Do you have an opinion? Photo update was posted below

Yeah, I have been staying away from that conversation as there are some very 'interesting' comments. It is very simple, the Sumi is not finished yet. Kobayashi has two types of Sumi, I have posted about this before, one type grows from inside the skin and the other type grows on top. This is obviously the type that grows on top. Once it finishes it will look the same as the other type.
Re: WWKC show results
Thanks. I think some are searching for this "type" of sumi when it is likely just a "phase". I expect it will get dark save the window on the shoulder.
