And btw, even if you shade directly over the pool, the surrounding areas will still be transferring it.

In greenhouses, to maintain and use the sun's energy to offset heat costs, they advise people to put down concrete slab, pavers or rocks because once they are heated, they slowly release that heat/energy back into the greenhouse to raise the temperature.
It's a double edged sword in that heat is great when you want it but when you don't it is a PITA.

I think that is going to be difficult to do, however with the FF pump running I think the will shower cool that water down considerably given that the tank will have around 3500 Gallons in it

Not only heat transfer, sound as well. The fish will thank you for a 1/2 inch sheet of insulation if any of your guests drop a glass, bounce a ball, walks heavily, etc. The noise transfers very easily into the pool and spooks them. When I had an indoor arrangement I used a sheet of foam insulation primarily for a sound barrier.

I just looked online and they have 8x 4ft insulation board at Lowes so at this late time I may be able to get some sorted
