Thanks for sharing the photos.
These are some very high quality young koi. My impression that they are judged mainly on patterns when this young has been shattered. The bodies are exceptionally strong. Only in Japan can you see so many great fish under the same roof.

Re: Taniguchi Sanke
M,
I still have the image of your fish in my head from two years ago. The skin, body and beni did not have the typical looks but I guess that was a very good thing. The sanke has really turned out well.

Good information but the way to get Tom to buy more is to say "Buy 3 Get 1 Free".

Keep in mind that pink beni does not automatically mean high quality beni.

Re: Pink or not Pink
I don't think I'll know what pink beni is until I save my pennies and buy one already identified as pink. Of the three prior, I'm not seeing anything in the last two. I chickened out of that INC hunt and went for a tancho (#13) lol. I didn't select this one because I thought it had pink beni, but I...

Re: Pink or not Pink
Here are photos of a pink beni sanke from PSKoi 2013 ikeage. From not so obvious to full blown pink beni. The tosai fish had unusual transparent copper color beni tone. I don't think digital photos can be trusted to represent color faithfully. Camera makers tune their gears to over exaggerate red an...

Re: Pink or not Pink
I don't know if this will help folks or not but there is a Pink Beni kid is this group. It's from last year at this time and yes, it's sold. ;) http://pskoi.com/forums/download/file.php?id=3299 In the group picture, the pink beni fish stood out. The beni and skin are more translucent. To me, pink b...

Thank you, it has been a fun, tiring trip and now I need to get back to work on the facility.
It will help if there is water in the concrete thingy.

Re: Pink or not Pink
As the fish matured in the next few months, the pink beni became obvious. Unfortunately, beni on this one wasn't stable so it didn't last.
